Best Western Le Bois de la Marche

We travel through France regularly and were only made aware of this hotel a couple of years ago. It has proved to be a quiet relaxing place after a day's travel with friendly staff only to eager to ensure your needs are met. We particularly enjoy the restaurant facilities for both an evening meal and breakfast. The restaurant is spacious and it is one of the few eating establishments where patrons do not feel to be on top of each other. The rooms are always clean spacious with contemporary feel. Just what we look for. The hotel grounds are extensive and great for a quiet walk. Even better when we travel with our dogs as there is somewhere to be able to exercise them without worrying about their safety or causing inconvenience to guests. Would not now stay anywhere else when in this part of France.

Much more than a motorway roadside stopover. Beautiful pool and great restaurant and bar area. The free tennis court was a great thing too, and plenty of parking. Very helpful staff. Very clean and comfortable rooms.

We booked here at fairly short notice, we were originally staying in a place booked via Vrbo but just didn’t really settle there. The staff here were exceptional. So friendly and accommodating, even during busy periods. The rooms were very clean, bright and airy. Beds are huge but could have been a little more comfy, beds are of course down to personal preference and I prefer a bed that is fairly firm. The air-con works well and the room facilities more than adequate. We had breakfast and dinner twice during our three night stay. The food is very good with high quality and plenty of choice. Breakfast is a buffet which definitely caters to all tastes. Dinner was delicious and presented to a very high standard. Prices for both are very reasonable. There is an outdoor pool with seating and loungers surrounding. It is very clean and is a great place to relax. The bar and restaurant are by the pool and the bar staff will come and serve you whilst you are relaxing. Children are welcomed and there is a good selection of drinks and ice cream available all day. The hotel is surrounded by ‘park-like’ grounds and woodland. Pets were clearly welcomed. The Poitiers-Sud Centre Commerciale is a few minutes away but car and the city centre is around 10 minutes drive. This stay really rounded off what was a great holiday for us and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it.

Fantastic hotel, well located for the motorway. We were greeted by Harpreet on reception who I must say, is one of the most friendly and helpful receptionists I have ever met. Best Western management, if you read this, cherish this girl she is a real credit to your organisation. We were travelling on motorbikes and the large parking area felt safe enough to leave our bikes. We were looking for a hotel to stay in the following night near Caen and Harpreet took all the stress out of finding one by contacting the Best Western "La Mar au Poisons" direct and immediately sorting two rooms for us at a very good rate, top marks! Great hotel, great breakfast, exceptional staff, I would highly recommend.

As the hotel is next to the motorway, and is set in a parkland it is ideal for the dog when we are travelling. But more than that the staff are very dog friendly not just dog tolerant! The food in the restaurant was lovely and the dog was welcome into the restaurant too. Topped with a comfy bed and very clean rooms, its ideal. We have used this hotel many times in the last few years and were not disappointed.
